Every two weeks, ACVF distributes rice, noodles, oil. eggs. and vegetables to 20 individuals and families. We are hoping to triple that number by the end of the year! Our meal voucher programs helps fill in the gaps for those we can't support more fully, while also supporting local "cookers" who prepare the meals.
Some families just need mosquito netting, paint, or electrical wiring; others need roof repair or walls. One at a time, our pilot program has been rehabilitating housing. We hope to expand our efforts and put more people in safe, watertight, mosquito-proof housing.
In CV, schooling involves fees - class fees, book fees, test fees - which are beyond the means of most. Not finishing high school is a barrier to employment, even for the simplest jobs. Vocational apprenticeships are a path to self-sufficiency. By underwriting the costs of these, ACVF will not only feed people, but "teach them to fish."
